Expat Life in the Philippines – Sex and Romance

For a low outlay, many people now enjoy a good lifestyle in the warm tropical climate of the Philippines. Expat life in the Philippines can be very enjoyable, but there are some problems to living in paradise, especially for those new to the country and its ways.

For one thing, the Philippines are a land of contradictions. While many Filipinos are regular church goers, the country has a deserved reputation for graft, corruption, and of course beautiful Asian ladies and sex. It is for the Filipina ladies that many expats are drawn to the Philippines, either because they seek romance, or as sex tourists to fill more base needs. For those lacking local knowledge, both of these activities can be problematic, and for the unlucky, a veritable minefield of hassle for the unwary.  

In a land of such contradictions, one important thing you must realize is that, Hollywood movies aside, not all Filipinas are the same. Although there are lots of girly bars with beautiful young Filipina hostesses who happily provide sex for cash, outside the bars, the percentage of Filipinas who can rightfully wear virginal white at their wedding is much higher than any western country.

Something that many new expatriates do not seem to grasp is that while they may be laughed at for talking to a twenty-year old bombshell at home, the same is not necessarily true in the Philippines. If you walked down a street in your home country and smiled at attractive ladies, you’ll probably get strange looks or a rap in the mouth; but in the Philippines, 99.99% of the time you’ll get a dazzling smile in return. And this from ‘normal’ ladies who may be shop assistants, bank tellers, waitresses and yes, maybe even bar girls.

You see, what people find attractive is conditioned by the culture in which they were raised. So to many Filipinas looks are often not the biggest attraction. What they subconsciously seek is someone that is a good provider, caring, kind and family orientated. These attributes seem much more important in a spouse than the body of a Greek Adonis. So, even if you’re fat and 50, don’t count yourself out from being found desirable to a Filipina you don’t have to pay money to be with!

If you are single and want to meet someone, don’t sell yourself short or put yourself down because of your age or physique – try smiling and being friendly. I know many expats who simply talked to ladies they met; shop girls, bank tellers – anyone, and found themselves in a relationship with lovely ladies – without the usual baggage that seems to accompany most relationships formed with bar girls. So remember, if you live in the Philippines and want to find real, lasting romance with a lovely lady; whether you’re fat and 40, bald and 50, or skinny and 60, just smile and act with kindness.
